45yrs Boatbuilding & Adventure Sailing
The handy little Schooner Whydah - We designed and built this sailboat in 2000 designed and built under licence of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency United Kingdom and subsequently charted for holidays and sailing adventure in U.K. France and Spain for 15yrs. Now sold to the Scout Sailing association Gemany. A typical New York pilot schooner of the 1850's
1982 Nicholson designed Racing Yawl
We purchased this yawl in 1981 built by Souters in1953 to an indifferent standard was always wet on the wind and not much better off it, after sailing in Gibraltar and the Med we took it to Madeira and then the Canaries where we sold it.
1982 Johnathon L Seagull
Crossing Biscay late October to Corunna in company with John Noakes of TV programme Blue Peter. The Johnathon L was lost a few weeks later off Casablanca at which time we were anchored in Portimao S. Portugal with our Nicholson Yawl Cohoe 2 We up anchored and sailed to Vila Moura making in at lunch time just as the same storm closed the port
Roberts 43 Saskia sister ship to our Munin
Sailing with and racing against Saskia inspired us to build the Munin also a Roberts 43. A good sail boat if a bit roly. We cruised and chartered the Munin for 6 yrs to France, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, West Africa, Cap Verdes, West Indies and Florida. Winners of the Sport Aid to Africa and back race
1987 Pilot on Board
We signed Abdullah Senneh on as part of the crew mainly because he was fluent in the local dialects Jollof and Mandinka We spent most of our time birding in the mangrove swamp which line the first 50 miles of the river. Navigable by freighters for over 200 miles this picture was shot 30 miles up
!980 Kharon 26 ft Cruiser racer Sadler design
After xing the English Channel we made our way to the River Gironde half way along the French Biscay coast the picture shows Kharon under tow by the peniche Carin we made the lock at Castet en Dorthe at the end of a long day After 3 weeks travelling the Canal de Midi in company with Isnogoud a similar French sloop and crew Alan and Didier we made out into the Meditteranean from Port la Nouvelle and sailed to Gibraltar We subsequently sailed back to UK
Wharram Cat Fiu 34ft Tangaroa. We built this vessel in 1975/6. Launched in Cardiff bay in 1976 we sailed it to Kent and returned to Poole where we built the Sadler sloop Kharon, not committed catamaran sailers we sold it when the Sadler 26 was launched
